IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU ARE FAMILIAR WITH PROBOARDS TERMS OF SERVICE
Please read these terms carefully and do not break any rules, as you may jeopardize the continued existence of this forum!
One, Concerning Registration & Canon
- Please limit characters to four unless you are absolutely certain you can keep that many accounts active with quality. Otherwise, there is no limit on how many canon and original characters you may play.
- You do not have to register with your character's name, but the character name must be the display name.
- You may make original characters within the class structure provided. Please note that if you choose to make an original character, they must have a historically-appropriate name, a play-by sporting the correct period clothing, and females may not inherit estates.
Two, Concerning Roleplay, Quality, & Quantity
- We are less concerned with quantity: Please try to contribute to threads at least twice a month. If you are feeling uninspired, perhaps you will find muse in the Out of Character category. Please know that activity checks will be conducted once a month.
- We are more concerned with quality: Posts should ideally be 500 words or greater, with minimal errors and attention paid to plot/story arcs. If your thread finds 500 words unnecessarily wordy and it slows the flow of your play, then any word count is acceptable, providing your post contributes to/propels your plot. We strive for high-quality posts on T,IS as we give you an ample time limit to compose your writing. We aim for a relaxed atmosphere with substantial, thoughtful composition. Please use historically appropriate language and observe the customs and practices of the time (concerning visiting, letter-writing, manners, acquaintances, things of this nature).
-There will be no god-moding, perfect characters, bullying, or restricting another player's character interactions/another player's muse. You may not dictate the play of any character besides your own.
- Please be familiar with Jane Austen's novel Pride and Prejudice, or at least have seen a movie version.
Three, Concerning Help & Suggestions
- If there is anything at all you need help with, we encourage you to post in the Help & Archives board! Administrators and members can offer their advice on roleplaying, the plot of Pride and Prejudice, character development and subplots, choosing an appropriate name and play-by, historical accuracy, among other things.
- If you need help with graphics, please contact an Administrator or member-offered graphics thread. Administrators can help you with appropriate play-bys, icon, avatar, and signature sizing, thread banners, and photo manipulation.
- Please note that avatars must be 150x200 px, and signatures should ideally 495x250 px.
