REBECCA SELENE LEVITT[/center]
FULL NAME AND TITLE: Rebecca Selene Levitt.
GOES BY: Miss Levitt. Rebecca. Bec.Beccy. Miss Beccy.
AGE: 20/Twenty.
CLASS: Middle Lower Class.
OCCUPATION: N/A. Assists father in his shop.
POSITION IN FAMILY: Middle child. Firstborn/Only daughter.
FINANCES: £100/Year
FACE CLAIM: Winona Ryder.
EYE COLOR: Brown.
HAIR COLOR: Brown.
HEIGHT AND BUILD: 5'1"/Full-figured/Voluptuous.
DESCRIPTION:
The first thing you might notice about Rebecca is this; she's tiny. Not of build, so to speak; she's actually quite a strong-figured creature for such a little thing, well-curved and not half as fragile as someone twice as dainty and light as she is might be. Of course, it tends to make her look a bit plump if she wears the wrong things, or slouches, but if you can get past that, she's entirely not a bad lass in figure at all. It's not like she's lazy or slothful; she's an active, useful lass. She's just built like she is, and she can't help that, so she's pretty well had to accept that with maturity.
When it comes to looks, Rebecca's not...plain, but she's not breathtakingly beautiful either. Certainly nowhere near the beauty Miss Bennett, or Miss Elizabeth, who is as dark as she is. But in her way, she still cuts a handsome face. Almost elfin, really, with those blunt cheekbones and that slightly sloped little nose, and eyebrows arched in a manner almost as impish as the quirk of full lips that may just be her best feature. So too might it be her best feature on the basis of her smile; she's an earthy, warm little creature on even her quieter days, and thus, her frank, one-dimpled smile is frequent and uninhibited and rarely is it not bestowed upon those around her, many of whom she's known since she was a little girl.
As aforementioned, she's a fairly dark little thing colour-wise. Dark hair the colour of burnt chestnut contrasts against white skin freckled in faint smudges and falls in something of a mane falls straight all the way until it reaches her waist when freed from it's plaited bun, curling only in wispy bangs about her cheekbones and giving the illusion of thickness when it is in fact quite soft and fine, and only looks the latter due to the sheer mass of it. As to her eyes -- because it's not an appearance without some mention of a pair of fine eyes -- they are...large. Large and almond-shaped and the colour of warm honey-brown, almost too much so for her elfin face. And yet at the same time, suiting her perfectly fine in their own way. Or perhaps it's simply her; she's perfectly fine with it all in her own way, and as such, it just makes her looks seem perfectly fine as they are on her.
PERSONALITY:
Down-to-earth is the first thing you might think of once you get to know Rebecca. Despite being given a slightly eccentric and precious middle name by a mother who was something of a dreamer and a dabbler in myth and fantasy, Rebecca's about as far from precious as you'll ever get. She's a great enjoyer of reading, yes. She is the daughter of a bookshop owener after all, and what young woman doesn't enjoy a bit of dancing and music? But her head's nowhere near the clouds; she's always been a sensible, useful girl, eager to lend a hand and while thoughtful and curious, not prone to flights of fancy. Perhaps it's come from being the only girl in a family of men, or perhaps it's simply her nature.
There's nothing pretentious about her; she reacts in a manner as straightforward and frank as you can possibly be, and if she sometimes takes things a bit too literally or gets a little too baffled by things of a more fanciable or frivolous nature, she will, in the least, at least take a moment or two to consider it thoughtfully before she decides to dismiss it. She's a thoughtful lass, after all, and possessed of a kind enough nature that she can take most things with a manner that is relatively easy-going and not prone to holding grudges. Unless it keeps on hounding or otherwise baffling her...then she might show a little more consternation.
Understandable, though; she's not shy, not at all, but at the same time, what person doesn't get a little bit flabbergasted when they're feeling a bit confused or overwhelmed. And while she's fairly well educated by standards of her class -- and in no small part thanks to her father's job in life -- one wouldn't say she's highly intelligent, either. Not in the figurative sense; she's not stupid either. At all. In the slightest. She understands what's going on around her, and with the right partner in discussion, she could discuss a good story or a poem without embarrassing herself overtly. But for her, intelligence is rated much more on a kinaesthetic scale. That is, what one can do with what they see with their eyes and can touch with their hands -- that is the sort of cleverness, the sort of instinct that friendly, earthy little Rebecca possesses.
At the same time though, she's not without her own sense of fun and warmth. In fact, give yourself a chance to know the girl and you'll find she's as far from boring as you can get -- just in a quieter way. She's earthy, but she's not a negative sort; it's not uncommon to see a smile, even a small one, curling her lips, and it's rare she doesn't have a smile to spare. Of course, she's like any human being; she does get angry and flustered and all manner of indignant, and considering she does sometimes take things literally, it's not entirely rare to see her annoyed at things or if she gets teased too often. But otherwise, she's a warm little thing, and with three brothers, she's learnt what it is to let your mischievous streak shine. You've just got to do it more subtly than boys do, is all.
RESIDENCE:
FAMILY MEMBERS:
Mr. Joel Levitt - Father - Bookshop Owner - Meryton - 58
Mrs. Charlotte Levitt (nee. Hanson) - Mother - Meryton - Deceased
Mr. Patrick Levitt - Older Brother - Head Groom at Netherfield - Meryton - 26
James Levitt - Younger Brother - 10
Joshua Levitt - Younger Brother - 10
HISTORY:
Like every person in the world, regardless of place, continent, country or town, Rebecca has a story that starts with a beginning. Not that it was anything overtly interesting or dramatic; it was just that, a beginning. She was born with relatively little fuss. And then christened Rebecca Selene Levitt, born on April the 2nd on a warm spring evening, to Mr Joel Levitt and Mrs Charlotte Levitt of Meryton...a bustling country town she would so too grow up in and spend almost all of her life in.
Rebecca grew up in a life that was relatively comfortable. Not as comfortable as it might have been if she had been born of a higher station, and their home in Meryton was cosy enough as to be a little tight with two adults and their two children, but at the same time, she didn't know much better, and thus didn't want for much more. With an older brother (and one of a considerable age gap when they grew older), there really wasn't too much fear to be had as to her future, for lest Patrick was lost to them young, she would always have a place to live. It never actually occurred to her until she was older and saw it for herself in some sibling relations that she was in fact quite lucky to have such a doting older brother not willing to throw her out should their inheritance come upon them, though with age came realisation, with realisation came gratitude, and with gratitude came closeness.
If anything of great import happened before she was eleven years of age, it was the family's visit to the seaside. It took a great deal of saving, but to the seaside they visited in Rebecca's ninth year, and even though she knows now that it was also partly for her mother's health, it's a basket of memories she's never forgotten and held close to her heart. She's had to, for while said visit was for her mother's state of health, it wasn't the cure all. Or perhaps it was, and her eleventh year was simply that of bad luck. For while twins are all too rare to survive in the womb, let alone childbirth, survive her little brothers did...somehow, the little scamps survived. It was a small blessing in a way, for Mrs Levitt was less fortunate, and while she survived the birth, it was fever and infection that would take her before the boy's first year of life.
Losing a family member is difficult. Losing a mother, however, is something else on a whole new plane. For while the father is the head of the family, the mother is the tight, unyielding twine that holds the group together. To this day, Rebecca's not quite sure how she and her brothers and her father got through it, but they did...somehow. She certainly had to grow up a fair bit quicker than she might have otherwise done so, with two little toddlers to help raise, so much so that she was in fact late in her "coming out" of sorts, if only by a year. With the passing of time though, things settled into something...not what it once was, for it would never be the same again, but it was something. A new version of normal, and a version that has remained as such in the years that have since passed.
