DESCRIPTION:
Jane is the very standard for beauty in Meryton, a fact that Mrs. Bennet never fails to remark upon to anyone who will listen. Jane has a thin feminine physique, and is of average height for a woman her age. Jane’s crowning glory is her hair, blonde in color that hangs in soft curls well past her shoulders. Often she wears it pulled back and pinned out of the way. But a stray curl has been known to fall loose upon her face without her realizing.Jane’s eyes are deep blue in color that tend to sparkle when she’s excited or when she laughs. Her face is thin with high cheekbones that lend to her air of gentility with soft lips that are rarely ever turned into a frown.
For dress Jane favors softer colors that coincide with her personality but green is her favorite. Her gowns are by no means the latest Town fashions. But they are suitable for country life and entertainments. Often Jane will lend out her newer things to her younger sisters and will be seen in somewhat plainer attire so that her sisters will be given the chance to shine. What is perhaps most noticeable about Jane is not in her dress but in her air, as if she has no idea of the beauty she possesses.
PERSONALITY:
Jane is remarked upon by most she meets as being a sweet, gentle girl with a favorable disposition and genuinely happy manners. Typically upon first meeting Jane is somewhat reserved and shy but is always friendly and welcoming. She enjoys making new friends and meeting new people. Jane has a habit of seeing the world through rose colored glasses. She would prefer to think that people act with the best of intentions and sees the good in all she meets. There is more to Jane than her constant optimism, which is often used as a shield to hide her true feelings from others as she would not wish to be a burden on anyone.
Jane possesses modesty and kindness in her nature. She loves her family even though they sometime embarrass her especially where her mother and youngest sisters are concerned. She’ll often lend her sisters pocket money, ribbons, or gloves at no thought to herself. She is the closest with her sister Lizzie whom she confides in and asks for advice. Jane adores children and one of her greatest desires in the world is to become a wife and mother.
Jane is far more intelligent than most give her credit for preferring to judge her for her beauty and not her brain. Even after enduring years of her mother’s embarrassment regarding her looks Jane will still try to interrupt and converse intelligently only to be interrupted. She bears it with good grace though and keeps her thoughts to herself. Although she prefers to see the good in most she is not so foolish as to allow the hurt to continue once she has been slighted. Her trust is given freely the first time, but once betrayed it takes a long time to earn her trust again.

HISTORY: Jane Bennet was born to Mr. and Mrs. Bennet of Longbourn House in Hertfordshire. Mr. Bennet being a man of modest fortune and able to call himself gentleman had wed Mrs. Bennet (nee Gardiner) and proceeded into supposed matrimonial bliss. Mr. Bennet had bestowed one singular duty upon his wife so that their family would be provided for upon his death and that was the procreation of a male heir.
Unfortunately this would prove to be a far more insurmountable task than either of them thought.
Jane was the first attempt at securing a male heir for the Bennet family. Born a girl, but the first girl the two Bennet parents still maintained hope for a boy. As a girl, it was discovered with great pleasure that Jane had inherited much of her mother’s reputed beauty and was often remarked upon as the most lovely and beautiful child in all of Hertfordshire. A trait that would follow her into adulthood.
Jane didn’t have long to wait before she was joined by her next sibling, Lizzie. Being a genuinely sweet child, she took the role of elder sister quite seriously wanting to do everything in her power to make her younger sister happy. It was clear since infancy that Jane and Lizzie had a bound that was closer than any of the other Bennet sisters. And eventually three more sisters would come along over the course of seven years.
Although Lydia would prove to be Mrs. Bennet’s favorite daughter, Jane endured a constant embarrassment because of her mother’s vulgarity and pride in Jane’s appearance. As a young child Jane became determined that she would never become like her mother and endeavored to act as a polite and gently bred young lady should. Over the years she has perfected the art of enduring her mother’s embarrassment with a gentle protest and a pained look in her eye but with impeccable manners. As she grew, she ended up becoming the second favorite of both her parents. Mr. Bennet declared great regard for her, because of her gentle disposition and kind manners but ultimately it was Lizzie that he preferred to her.
Perhaps always being second helped to shape her shy persona, she is completely ignorant of her own beauty and charms. As a young woman she discovered the delights of falling in love, a young boy in Meryton had declared himself to be so much in love with her that the Bennet family was sure she would be made an offer of marriage. Jane got to experience the art of courting, and having poetry written to her. She did fancy herself in love with him as a youth. But as a young woman she can reflect upon the situation and honestly say that she entertained no such feelings for him. It was the folly of youth.
So now she is well into her twenty-second year and very single. Although her mother might be in the market for her to marry well, Jane is in the market to fall in love. She has no aspirations to fortune or fame and is incapable of the guile necessary to get those items through personal ambition. Having heard of Mr. Bingley having let Netherfield hall she wonders if perhaps the possibility of her falling in love might happen after all.

YOUR SAMPLE:
Snow was lying on her little bed in the dwarves’ house staring at the small bottle lying on the nightstand next to her bed. It looked so beautiful, the bottle and the clear liquid inside it. It was the solution to all her problems, relief to the pain that was rooted deep in her heart. With one drink she could forget him and all this pain would be gone. She had come so close already to just downing that bottle and putting an end to all of this. The only thing stopping her was her promise to Grumpy. That she would take some time and let her heart try and heal.
It had been three days since she had walked out on James and time had slowed to where minutes now took the place of hours. The dwarves had been so kind to her, and had taken her in when she had no place to go. So she had made her promise and she would stick to it but she didn’t know how much longer she could hold out for. If she didn’t find a way to stop her thoughts from straying to the look of hurt on his face when she claimed she didn’t love him it wouldn’t be much longer at all.
Snow decided to take a walk. Maybe she could find some fruit in the forest and make the dwarves some pies as a thank you present. Rising from her bed she dressed and went out, making sure to take Rumplestilskin’s potion with her. She placed it in the leather pouch around her belt and left it there determined not to use it. Taking a basket from the spot by the doorway she set out to find some fruit ever so acutely aware of the bottle in her pouch.
She had done the right thing. That was what she kept telling herself. She couldn’t take the thought of James being killed on her account. He was her Prince Charming and her true love. It was worth them being separated if she could save James’ life. Even if they could have found a way to circumvent his father, there was still the bounty on her head from her step mother. There was no future for her and James.
As she walked she didn’t really have any direction in mind, not that she really cared to. All she had was time now, so if she got lost in the woods for a few hours no one would be the wiser. As she made her way over thicket and brush she tried to think about anything and everything other than James; her new life with the dwarves, the forest, anything that didn’t involve him. Yet as she walked through the forest she was haunted by the memories of their first meeting. Unable to keep going she sat down on a felled tree and set her basket down.
Gingerly reaching down to her belt she undid the leather tie that held the pouch secure and opened it, taking out the bottle. Turning it over and over in her hands she was so very close to undoing the stopper and ending her sorrows when she heard a noise from the brush.
“ Is someone there?” she called getting up thinking it was one of Regina’s henchmen.
